Jungle hit me suddenly like a bus and I became a club kid in NYC, Boston, and Tokyo. The true future sound that could go on all night, jungle / dnb wasn’t only music but fashion, a lifestyle and excellent parties. Didn`t need drugs cause the natural high was too strong. The fashion of airy bulgy pants designed on Saturn, oversized t-shirts and graphics that never existed before. A complete scene it splintered into numerous sub genres dependent on the location. Cause I didn’t have a record player, I got mixtapes. Beautiful mixtapes at clothing stores or handed out free at spontaneous raves at parks. I didn’t know the DJ’s and only gradually knew the numerous names that popped out locally and around the world. Late night radio, rogue cassettes and eventually CDs for stores above the underground. From its start, drum and bass was the most multicultural music at that time. Once I was finally in Tokyo, the parties continued until they just stopped. The sadness of a scene instantly gone was immense. My feelings and hopes for many futures became stuck in time.
<<fast forward>> Covid isolation and reflection for everyone and I delved back a little since club culture was dead for a year plus. Even made a short lived party devoted to jungle. But finally now everyone has caught up. We have started on a future trip with a growing metaverse, AR, VR, XR and club music that is noisier than ever. The future that drum and bass saw is growing from its seeds now and as we live it drum and bass makes sense again. It doesn’t sound old. It sounds like yesterday’s tomorrow. The fashion says so, the music bass says, the 3D animations say so. And the mixtape is back in stores. Kinda. The tape is a relic that now feels like an Andy Warhol art object we can now buy (again). Maybe we can’t play it cause our iPhones don’t have cassette play ability but having one feeds the underground again. Buy a cassette and display it to your people.
BURST INTO FLAMES LIKE ME is a branch off of the feels of my return to the club covid release CHROMATIC LACK OF GRAVITY, this is the drum and bass I couldn’t make as a kid.

Burst into Flame like Me (can you guess you wrote this lyric??) is a solid jungle/drum and bass release accompanied by a real cassette release.
